We’ve been scouting for a potential vacation property to retire to in the Sierra foothills for a while. We stumbled across a beautiful place in the Columbia area, and realized we needed to engage a local realtor.
We stumbled across Mike Morales while searching, and we were impressed with the reviews we saw and his blog. It was obvious that Mike was actively following the market and providing his own insight into what was going on with the various fluctuations and trends we were seeing. Mike has himself made the migration from the Bay Area rat race to live full time in the mountains, and that was very valuable to us, as he could relate with motivations.
After talking with Mike to set up a viewing of the property, it became very clear that Mike really cares about his clients and their particular needs. This became even more evident during our viewing of the property, subsequent offer preparation and the counteroffer discussions. Not once did Mike put pressure on us to make a sale, he invested time and energy to understand us as buyers and our situation, he helped us to analyze the pros and cons of our offer, the market and the property we were bidding on…. all focused on our dreams.
Although we were unable to close on that particular property, we worked with Mike for a few months and submitted a number of offers on other properties. Eventually we found a house in a fantastic location and with Mike’s help we were able to negotiate and close on it. All through the escrow process Mike was there for us, and went above and beyond to help us. We had concerns about past construction work, so Mike pulled in one of the best builders in the area to give his assessment. We had concerns about moisture in the basement, again Mike pulled in people with experience to help us understand what we were seeing. Frankly he’s an awesome human being, and I encourage anyone reading this to give him a call.
